everything is turning to plastic

more and more of what i see is becoming plastic. i think it's a problem. do we really need plastic mail boxes and plastic fences? why are newer cars more and more plastic? why do we live in a fischer price nation? what's next? are our houses going to actually be built with legos? come on. "don't you wish everything was rubbermaid?" NO!!!

my grandmother says things aren't made like they used to be made. i believe her. when she was a young woman, the car she drove was made out of thick, american steel. my i have to look long and hard to find any plastic on my 1962 fairlane. funny, how those older cars have so much class, too. hmmm...

everything from tools, to lawn sprinklers, to our vehicles, to appliances, to who knows what else is morphing into plastic. it's sad. making plastic can be very pollutive. and it just looks cheap. but i guess in the united states, cheap is good. because YOU get the best deal. and here, it's all about YOU. maybe the days of wood, concrete, and metal are behind us? cheers . . ..
